Cream all Competitors in Xbox Madden 10

If learning about all the new stuff still hasn't made you excited about Xbox Madden 10, then maybe a visit to video gaming's not-so-distant past can put things into perspective. On one hand, it's probably not too cool to say Xbox Madden 10 is great, just because it stands out next to crap from 30 years ago. But it helps to see how much progress has been made in football video games, by taking a glance at the earliest video games and comparing them to Xbox Madden 10. It was inevitable, given the popularity of handheld football games in the B.C. (before consoles) era, that gamers would want a video football game to satisfy their needs. The bad news, though, was that video game technology was still in the "post-Pong" phase, and the games reflected those limitations. Even then, the game companies were excellent at the hype, and kept boasting that this one boasted "all the excitement" of real football.

The characters on the gridiron are more suited to a sci-fi shooter than a football video game. Rough, but true. And if the picture has you cringing, you can only imagine what the gameplay is like. From a technological standpoint, things were so basic, that multiple players moving at once meant that the only thing extreme about this game was the flickering of the players. Gamers used to the crisp aural sensation of today's games would be stunned by the lack of cool sound here. Another disappointment - the screen didn't (or just couldn't) scroll. In a short matter of time, the competitors entered the video game console field, and brought out their take on a more realistic football video game. They definitely took the ball and ran with this one, giving gamers better gameplay, visuals, and sound. It wasn't there yet, though.

Hardcore gamers were pretty excited by that one, as it really heralded the beginning of sports video games - but it was still just an early entry in the field. It would take a few more years before anything like that took place. The next level in football video games had been reached, and still we're seeing a following for this one. If you were to ask a gamer from the 90s what their favorite sports video game was, this one would crack the top 5 list.

Can't argue with the fact that the hardcore gamers did take to this one - for the first time, the NFL got the red-carpet treatment from a football video game. It was an amazing evolution in football video games, and this one was really a major turning point. It's one of the few "old school" games that can still excite today's crop of hardcore gamers. That being said, as much as everyone digs that one, Xbox Madden 10 is in an entirely different league. Hard to believe how much these games have improved since they first came on the scene. We've had a few chuckles, but mocking less advanced video games isn't a productive use of our time. We think you understand. Those games had their weaknesses, but if it weren't for them, we wouldn't be playing Xbox Madden 10 today, so they did get the ball rolling. Xbox Madden 10 is the future of football video games, and the video game community is psyched that the future is looking so bright. The reviewers have spoken, and they're as stoked as the gamers, which is always a cause for celebration. You want impressive admiration for Xbox Madden 10, see the reviews, which all use terms like"realistic and enjoyable." Xbox Madden 10 is another monster hit for EA Sports, though we think you could predict that one. Don't let the naysayers shape your opinion - Xbox Madden 10 is a game for the ages. Not to put down any other Xbox sports video games, which have certainly earned their solid rep, but Xbox Madden 10 is just the best of the best. Most of the gaming world agrees that this is the new standard by which the rest shall be judged. More than just a great game, it's a chance to display your video game excellence, when you clash for cash. Now, Xbox Madden 10 fanatics can throw down the gauntlet and play video games for money. After you've really given yourself a crash course and learned all the rules, you'll score touchdown after touchdown - and make off with your rival's bankroll as well.
